We continue to strive to improve outcomes for children and young people with SEND.

Join our growing team of passionate professionals who share a commitment to making a real difference.

About the team

We have an opportunity for a Provision Coordinator to join our SEND Provision Team who support children and young people who currently are missing education across Hertfordshire and the UK.

About the role

To coordinate, monitor and secure suitable educational provision for children and young people identified as Children Missing Education (CME), ensuring the Local Authority fulfils its statutory duties. The post holder will work collaboratively with schools, academies, alternative providers, families and partner agencies to identify, track and support children who are not receiving a suitable education and facilitate their timely reintegration into education.

This is a fast paced role, ideal if you are a creative problem solver who loves to get into the detail of a case in order to ensure we’re meeting needs.

You will support families and schools to understand statutory processes for SEND and our local offer of support in Hertfordshire. This will include attending multi-agency meetings to discuss needs and provision; writing or amending EHC plans with a focus on commissioning and monitoring of appropriate provision.

This is a challenging but rewarding role, bringing together professionals and families to ensure that statutory obligations are met whilst keeping the child at the centre. It requires resilience, a drive for ambitious outcomes for children, and the ability to champion local solutions.

About you

Essential:

  • In-depth knowledge of SEND legislation and statutory guidance, including the Children and Families Act 2014, SEND Code of Practice, and SEND Regulations, with the ability to interpret and apply these effectively in practice.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work under pressure, managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across education, health, and care services.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, or significant experience within education or SEND-related roles.

 Desirable

  • Previous experience as an Education, Health Care Co-ordinator
  • You’ll also benefit from experience of working with schools to deliver SEND provision, or experience of coproduction with parents.
  • Experience of commissioning providers, negotiating with professionals across various disciplines, implementing packages of support, and working on multiple priorities at once would be beneficial for this role.

We welcome applications from candidates who currently reside in the UK with established proof of right to work documentation. We are not able to offer sponsorship at this time for this role.
